Rice Cooker

We were given a rice cooker as a wedding gift

(a little over 12 yrs ago)

from my grandparents.

It made it's last serving the other day.

It barley was able to finish that.

I was so sad that it was no longer working.

Not because I would have to go buy a new one.

Not because I would have to make rice in a regular pot.

Not because it almost messed up dinner that night.

I found myself so terribly saddened because of who it was from.

Both my grandparents are in heaven now.

They gave us other gifts after our wedding

but this one was special.

I think I may keep it on the shelf for a little while longer

just for a memory, if nothing else.
